Vacation Ideas For Young Couple On A Budget ($1500-$2000), No Cruise Please!?
We are celebrating our 1st year anniversary plus he just turned 21, looking to go somewhere fun and exciting (maybe water sports??). Any good ideas? Was thinking of Daytona Beach or Fort Launderdale, but have no clue how much it'll cost to do fun stuff around that area and food.....any preference?

There are lots of places. I think you should pick dates and then get a map out and throw a dart and wherever it lands than start focusing on that state and narrow down the options. Example TN has lots to do – there is Nashville, Memphis, Bristol…
FL has lots to do -Disney, Beaches, Nightlife…
I think your budget is reasonable. Vacations are what you make of them. Have fun!
Outrigger Beach Resort in Fort Myers Florida is a great, inexpensive getaway. Not an overly fancy place, but the beach is gorgeous, the pool is fantastic, the drinks at the Tiki Bar are tasty ( and the fastest bartenders ever!). The dolphins swim by every morning and again at sunrise…we’ve been there three years in a row (just got back last night!)http://www.outriggerbeachresort.com/
If you have to fly, try Spirit Air…fantastic deals. It cost us just under $500 for my family of 4 to fly down from Detroit.http://www.spiritair.com/welcome.aspx
Go to this website. Look at the DreamTrips and you’ll find great trips for your budget.

I know you said in US, but……you could go to Mexico or Jamaica and have a great time and not spend a lot. Talk to a travel agent and explain your budget. If that doesn’t pan out, look online! There’s lots of opportunities out there.
Vegas is great and can be cheap, but no watersports.
Fort Meyers, FL is great too. I used to live there, but it can get expensive to indulge in the watersports there.
People always go to Las Vegas. Don’t go if your wife is the jealous type because the cocktail waitresses are hot and everywhere. Myrtle Beach, SC is a popular place as is Florida beaches and Disney World Orlando.
$1500 to $2000 fair amount of money to spend on a vacation, and it can get you and your spouse quite far. Obviously, you’d have to watch what and where you’d spend the money, but you can do quite a lot with this. What is your focus? Do you want to relax? Find a four or five star hotel? Do you want a tour? Do you want a trip? Is warm weather the focus of your trip? Is winter? Find the focus of your trip and then plan from there. Use tripadvisor and sites like expedia and travelocity to help give you general idea about everything and then plan your trip and just enjoy yourself!
Finally, congratulations on your first year anniversary!
Attend those seminars (time share) they give free vacation package including airfare and hotel accommodation so the $1500 will be your pocket money or keep it and spend half, whatever. Search in google or yahoo for these type of seminars.
Vegas, baby!
There is tons to do there even if you are not into gambling. The hotels are great, the shows are great, wandering up and down the strip looking at everything is awesome. The whole town is fairly cheap…
Figure how much you are willing to spend if your food, drink, taxes, transfers are included in the total above.
Give that number to your local travel agent with the dates you want to travel. They will tell you about all the wonderful all inclusive properties…Cancun/Playa Del Carmen/Dominincan Republic…
Forget the internet. You will end up confused. Go to an expert.

WOOOOOO. Leaving this Wednesday.
I would say Orlando – BUT, you want water sports. This would mean Bahamas for sure. You can go cheap to Nassau if you look for some deals online. You will have water sports and sun and fun!
