What Is A Good Winter Sport That Is Social And Still Requires Exertion?

I am looking for something that is played during the cold months and beyond.
The sport should be more exciting than golf, more social than hunting, and cause more exertion than curling.
I currently enjoy triathlons and lifting weights.
If I don't get a better idea, it is going to be Krav Maga.

To this Canadian (and perhaps all Canadians) the answer is obvious – HOCKEY!
Its got everything you’re looking for and a lot more.

  • megaloma says:

Ice skating! Or there is a variant of Hockey where brooms are used to slide the puck around. I can’t remember the name but its more low-key than Hockey; kind of like tag-football in relationship to real American football. Lots of skating around fun!

Maybe cheerleading? *nudge, nudge* eh eh??

skiing! Its an awesome sport, and its not competitive, but you can show off once you get the hang of it.
